Brighter Night is excited to announce that we provided our first partial scholarship! With your support, we helped a young person at Pacific Quest get the full benefit of its wonderful wilderness program. “Nadia” is an amazing young woman of color from the Midwest who suffered the loss of a parent in her teenage years. Despite this loss, she persisted, only to have it put on pause as COVID shut the country down. As the isolation of 2020 persisted, “Nadia” began to suffer from increasing anxiety and depression--it was time for a change. Brighter Night ensured that she’s able to finish the program and have access to everything she needs at PQ. The staff at PQ describe her as a one-of-a-kind community leader who brought maturity, insight, and compassion to their Ohana. We’re very excited to achieve one of our organization’s goals – help someone who was struggling and make a difference in their life!
We will continue to help teens, young adults, and their families get the care they need to fully benefit from what Pacific Quest provides. We will keep you posted with each donation we make
Please be on the lookout for some future fun and fundraising virtual events!!
Brighter Night is excited to announce that we provided our second partial scholarship! With your continued support, we helped another young person at Pacific Quest get the full benefit of its wonderful wilderness program. “Sara” is an artistic, 15 year old girl from Southern California who spent about half of her young life traveling on boats throughout the world, mostly with her mom and family friends. “Sara” cares deeply for her 3 year old half sister, who also lives in California. Unfortunately, COVID had a significant impact on “Sara's” mental health and her family's finances, but they pulled their resources to make treatment possible. Although “Sara” has been struggling with anxiety and depression, her strong will and determination have been helping her manage these stressors at Pacific Quest--she's doing wonderfully!
We will continue to provide partial scholarships to those in need but we can’t do it without your help. Sign up now for our Trivia Night – February 26!
Brighter Night is continuing to support youth participants at Pacific Quest. Our third recipient is “Mary”. Mary is just barely 13. She comes from the Bronx and is one of 5 kids from a lovely middle class family. While they have some means, this is a huge stretch for them. PQ has kindly reduced their daily rate to help offset some of the cost though Mary still needed some financial help. With Brighter Night’s donation, Mary will be able to attend the program and utilize all of the services available to her there.
Your continued support of Brighter Night is what makes this possible. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far.
